Your financial friendwith benefits!

We are building a way for verified people in the UK to lend to and borrow from each other, with clear terms and no bank in the middle.

  • Every member is ID-checked
  • Every loan has a guarantor
  • In test mode: no real money moves yet

Oxyile is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. We plan to apply. No real money is lent or invested yet.

How it works

Three ways to use Oxyile

  • Borrow money

Loans backed by a guarantor you know, with the full cost shown before you agree. Test mode only for now.

  • Invest

Lend to verified borrowers, repaid monthly. High risk: you could lose all the money you lend. Test mode only for now.

  • Be a guarantor

Back a friend or family member’s loan. You’ll need the code from their invite.

Trust & transparency

How Oxyile is being built

Strong security, checked members and a tamper-evident audit trail piloted on the Polygon test network. Oxyile is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. We plan to apply. No real money is lent or invested yet.

How we protect you

  • 256-bit AES encryption for data at rest and in transit
  • Direct Debit payments through GoCardless (sandbox while Oxyile is in test mode)
  • Every member checked before they can use the platform

Loan records, fingerprinted on Polygon's test network

When a marketplace loan becomes active, a fingerprint (keccak256 hash) of its agreed terms, plus status and repayment events, is recorded on the Polygon test network (Amoy), so later changes to the terms are detectable. No personal data or money goes on-chain: payments are handled by regulated Direct Debit (GoCardless), not by smart contracts. Our loan-registry contract is in testing and has not yet been independently audited.

  • Fingerprints of loan terms, status and repayments only — no personal data or funds
  • Each record can be looked up on the public Amoy test-network explorer
  • Records are queued and retried if the test network is unavailable

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about regulation, missed payments, fees and your data.

Is Oxyile authorised by the FCA?
Oxyile is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. We plan to apply. No real money is lent or invested yet.
What happens if a borrower stops paying?
Every loan has a guarantor. If repayments are missed, the borrower is contacted and offered help first; the guarantor is asked to pay only after a set number of missed payments. You could still lose some or all of the money you lend.
Do smart contracts hold or move my money?
No. Payments are handled by regulated Direct Debit (GoCardless), not by smart contracts. We are piloting a tamper-evident audit trail: a fingerprint of each funded loan's agreed terms is recorded on the Polygon test network (Amoy). The contract is in testing and has not yet been independently audited.
Can I get my money back early?
No. Loans are repaid month by month over the whole term. There is no way to sell a loan to someone else.
What fees does Oxyile charge?
None while Oxyile is in test mode. Before any real-money launch, every fee will be shown in full before you agree to anything.
How is my data protected?
We follow UK GDPR, encrypt data at rest and in transit, and limit who can see it. See our Privacy Notice.
Are investments covered by the FSCS?
No. Peer-to-peer lending is not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
How is the interest rate set?
Every loan uses one fixed rate set by Oxyile. The monthly repayment, total cost and representative APR are shown before anyone agrees.
How are members checked?
Every member uploads photo ID, a selfie and proof of address, and our team checks them by hand. Electronic ID checks will be added later.
